Close encounters

Can you guess what the true version of the story behind this photo is?

A) I woke up at 5, eager to meet the new day. I jumped out of bed with a smile on my face, had a light breakfast, put my running clothes on and ran to the woods. The sun was up in the sky already, and it was a beautiful day. My body was fully awake and bursting with energy. Suddenly, I caught a movement. I stopped and took my phone out. Two beautiful roe deer were behind a tree. They spotted me and, friendly and tame as roe deer usually are, they came towards me to say hi and pose for a picture, stopping not 5 meters away from me. The phone camera focused on them, I clicked, and, talented a photographer as I am, I managed to capture the grace and speed of the deer in this spectacular, artistic photograph. The deer then turned and slowly walked away, melting into the woods.

B) I was woken up at 5 by a purring Sote, with stiff calves. I crawled out of bed with my eyes half shut, had a light breakfast, put my running clothes on and dragged myself up to the woods. The sun was up in the sky already, and it was a beautiful day. My mind was fully awake but my body was non-cooperative. Suddenly, I caught a movement. I stopped and took my phone out. Two beautiful roe deer were behind a tree. They spotted me and, shy and scared as roe deer usually are, they frantically tried to get away from me, inexplicably heading towards me instead, or perhaps wanted to warn me with their big sharp horns. I fumbled with the phone camera, nearly dropped the phone in the process, focused on who knows what, managed to press the right button and took this craptacular photo. The deer were now not 5 meters from me, and I would have taken the perfect deer picture, if I hadn't pressed the wrong button that shut the camera off instead. Before I had time to switch the camera on again, they realised they were running in the wrong direction and disappeared into the woods, leaving me with nothing but a blurry photo.

There, I put a circle around the deer for you. Just in case it's hard to see.
To compensate for this eye sore, here's a better photo that I took later during my run:
